Today's thought: If you don't like where you're living, MOVE!
No matter what type of exercise you can do or you enjoy, it's all good. I have hurting stuff on my body, and moving it around seemed to be a very bad idea. Ironically, that's untrue. It's like a rusty old lawn mower, the first step to fixing it is getting it to move again.
It turns out that even a little walking around, swinging arms, breathing deeply, stretching--has a positive effect. You don't have to go gung-ho gonzo, just add a few minutes. And keep adding them. It makes you feel better physically, but it also really does a lot for your noggin'! Better sleep, improved self esteem and mood, increased energy, and hey hey, what's this--healing for achy hurting parts--all from just a little bit of exercise.
BONUS: You can wear comfortable clothes, no makeup and dirty hair without repercussion!
What kind of exercise do you like? How does it affect you?
Swimming is my favorite exercise, but I haven't been to a pool in a year. :-(
ReplyDeleteWalking? It's ok, but I have to force myself. Today, I'm using the rain as an excuse not to walk. Maybe I'll come home after school and put on a concert DVD and dance.
Some days just don't work out, even with best intentions. I can't manage my own schedule--these people I live with keep throwing monkey wrenches into my days. But I've found that I can almost always find three days in a week that I can do an hour of something. I hope to add a class or something later. Has anybody ever done Zumba? It's pretty fun! It's popping up everywhere--I even saw the Methodist church is having Zumba!
ReplyDeleteMy little sister and niece are doing Zumba, but I don't know much about it. I've been seeing signs up all over town for Zumba classes.
